Recognized as a leader in Orthopaedic care in the Hampton Roads area, Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists (AOS) initiated Physical Therapy and Hand Therapy services in 2004 to better serve their patients. Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists Physical Therapy (AOSPT) now has 3 locations in Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Each of the recently constructed, 3,000 ft. facilities are staffed with experienced Licensed Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Certified Hand Therapists, committed to provide the highest quality of care. Each facility possesses advanced technology and the latest in state-of-the-art rehabilitative equipment to assist in the recovery process of our patients.

Each patient referred receives a therapy evaluation with a plan of care developed and also shared with the treating physician. A goal oriented treatment program will be initiated by the appropriate therapist, designed to treat the orthopaedic problem(s) and return the injured patient to an active lifestyle at home and at work. The treatment progression will include instruction and education on protective body mechanics to facilitate healing and protect from future injury; manual skills to stretch, mobilize, or stabilize a joint(s) to restore proper functional motion; therapeutic exercises and functional activity training to improve motion, muscle strength, and stabilization endurance capacity of the orthopaedic areas involved.

The various Programs offered at each location include:
  • Hand Therapy
  • Knee and Shoulder Orthopedics
  • Spine Rehabilitation
    • McKenzie Approach
    • Stabilization and Postural Training
