Dr. Gibson is a Virginia native. Dr. Gibson graduated Cum Laude from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Gibson joined the United States Navy in 1981. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia where he earned his M.D. in 1985. After graduating from MCV, he completed his general surgery internship at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia in July 1986. Dr. Gibson remained at the Naval Medical Center where he completed his Orthopaedic residency in 1992. Dr. Gibson did two fellowships, the first being at Tampa General Hospital for Orthopaedic Trauma in 1993 and the second in Los Angeles, CA for acetabular and pelvic surgery in 1994. Dr. Gibson practices general orthopaedics; he, however, specializes in orthopaedic trauma.
