Dr. Markham was raised in North Carolina. He graduated from Duke University in 1972 and went on to obtain his M.D. from the University of North Carolina. After that, he went on to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he completed his internship and residency in general surgery as well as orthopaedic surgery and a fellowship in spine surgery. While at Yale, he was Chief Resident of Orthopaedic Surgery and an instructor in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Markham is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. He is a member of the North American Orthopaedic Spine Society and Spine Research Group. Dr. Markham specializes in total joint replacements and disorders of the spine as well as treating patients with general orthopaedic problems.
