North Carolina native Dr. Markham graduated from Duke University in 1972 and went on to obtain his M.D. from the University of North Carolina. He continued his studies and completed his internship and residency in general surgery, orthopaedic surgery and a fellowship in spine surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital. While at Yale, he was Chief Resident of Orthopaedic Surgery and an instructor in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Markham is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and a member of the North American Orthopaedic Spine Society and Spine Research Group. Dr. Markham specializes in total joint replacements and disorders of the spine as well as treating patients with general orthopaedic problems.
