NORFOLK, VA – Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists (“AOS”), Hampton Roads’ largest orthopaedic group, announced the addition of their new dedicated Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation office on the first floor of the Smithfield building across from Leigh Hospital Campus.
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), also known as Physiatry, is a branch of medicine that focuses on the non-surgical diagnosis, management and treatment of musculoskeletal pain, such as in the joints, back, or neck.
AOS’s new state-of-the-art PM&R Procedure Room is fully-equipped with a C-Arm imaging scanner intensifier, a radiofrequency ablation (RFA) machine, and electromyogram (EMG) machine. Also furnished with five examination rooms devoted to PM&R patients, pre and post procedure rooms, and dedicated support staff, AOS physiatrists Dr. Jonathan Strand and Dr. JoAnn Dervay are able to perform various pain management treatments.
“This new Procedure Suite further expands on our existing full suite of Orthopaedic services as we strive to optimize and simplify the patient recovery experience,” says AOS President, Dr. Chad R. Manke. “At AOS, we are able to provide a vast array of custom treatment plans to suit each individual – whether it be minimally invasive procedures, surgeries, physical therapy, or injections. We’re extremely excited to have this new fully-equipped space specifically designed to assist our pain management patients. We’re also excited to grow our skilled PM&R team”
AOS is actively recruiting for an additional board-certified, interventional physiatrist for this new PM&R procedure room. Interested candidates can email their curriculum vitae to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Patients can call 757-321-330 to schedule an appointment with Dr. JoAnn Dervay or Dr. Jonathan Strand. The new PM&R Procedure Suite is located on the bottom floor of The Smithfield Building, 6160 Kempsville Circle, Suite 110A, Norfolk, VA, 23502.
